Both the weredogs and werecats spend a vast majority of their time in their animal form. They still speak, yes, English, but they find everything over all easier. As such, kits|pups are born in their animal form. They gain their human form after a year - or two.
Your character's cat|dog form should be as realistic as possible (while retaining personification). Most leopards would have yellow eyes, while rarer attributes may be purchased with snake fangs. Dogs would most likely be brown or black with yellow or yellow-brown eyes. Again, rarer attributes may be purchased.
There is a system for naming. However, each country varies, so do not forget to read the Naming Your Characters thread. When kits|pups are born, their parents name them. The weredog|werecat themself decide if they want to take on an apprenticeship to become a soldier. However, sometimes the Lord may recommend something. Also, most of the time, werecats|weredogs hunt|patrol in groups. Rarely do they go out alone.
The only medicine that is available in Borcalais is from the Prophets, if they have knowledge in healing or have a certain power that gives them the ability to do so. In Verroven, the only medicine available is from the Lord, himself.
